Storyline: Darauf haben viele Fans sehnsüchtig gewartet: 30 Jahre nach dem Ende der Gruppe B setzt Helmut Deimel der wildesten und zügellosesten Ära des Rallyesports ein Denkmal. „Gruppe B – Der Ritt auf dem Feuerball“ stellt die spektakuläre Action der über 500 PS starken Geräte in den Mittelpunkt und beleuchtet die rasante Entwicklung der Jahre 1983 bis 1986 im unnachahmlichen Stil des Österreichers. Die Chronologie der Ereignisse wird immer wieder durch thematische Exkurse aufgelockert wie das Scheitern der High-Tech in Afrika, den Gipfelsturm am Pikes Peak oder einen Ausblick auf die geplante Gruppe S. Neben der Action auf den Wertungsprüfungen behandelt Deimel auch die Technik und die Hauptdarsteller jener Zeit. Von Walter Röhrl und Ari Vatanen über die vier Gruppe-B-Weltmeister bis hin zu den Teamchefs Jean Todt und Cesare Fiorio.
